Link Oregon consists of a high-speed network with hubs in Bend,
Corvallis, Eugene, Hermiston, Klamath Falls, La Grande,
Medford, Ontario, Pendleton, Portland, and Salem. All hub
sites are interconnected at a minimum of 10Gbps speeds. The
core hub sites, Corvallis, Eugene, and Portland, are fully
interconnected at 4x10Gbps.
Our partners aggregate traffic from their various networks
and interconnect to Link Oregon at one of Link Oregon's hubs. In some
cases, partner equipment may be colocated at the
hub. Alternatively, a partner's site may be connected to
Link Oregon via a circuit from another provider.
Link Oregon provides internet transit connectivity for our
partners via two diverse 10GE circuits, one that travels
south from Eugene and one north from Portland. In
addition, Link Oregon participates in Internet2
and exchanges, such as the Oregon IX,
NWAX, and SeattleIX.
Traffic between Link Oregon's partners and other members of these exchanges are routed
via the exchanges, thus saving bandwidth on the internet transit
Link Oregon provides traffic graphs for
transit, and peering points.
Link Oregon scheduled maintenance windows are 04:00AM to 06:00AM
daily. Routine maintenance is performed on Mondays, but
critical maintenance may be done on any day during the 04:00
to 06:00 window. Link Oregon will provide notification 2 business days
in advance of scheduled maintenance activities whenever
possible. On rare occasions it may be necessary to perform
emergency maintenance with little or no advance warning, for
example to restore service after an outage.
Additionally, our providers for circuits and internet
transit will notify us of upcoming maintenance. Link Oregon will
post these notices as they are received.
