Unplanned outage: Denial of Service attack affecting multiple locations, 3/2/2009, 1455-1505

NERO experienced a massive denial of service attack that appears to have
been directed against one customer but caused general Internet access
issues for nearly all customers and particularly in Hermiston,
Pendleton, La Grande, Baker City, Bend and WOU in Monmouth.

At its peak, this DDoS appears to have hit nearly 1M pps and a 300Mbps
load of traffic.

We have mitigated the current attack but will keep an eye out for
additional issues.
