NERO final reports due 10/25/96
From: S.J.T. Owen and Tad Reynales
Contact: Mark Staben
We need to compile the results of the NERO demonstration projects that have been funded over the past two years in order to provide NASA with information in support of continued funding. We also need to establish needs and direction for future network-based collaborative teaching and research.
A few projects have been completed for some time, others are finishing up this summer. NASA has requested that we include as much of the information as possible in CD-ROM format. This will allow most software, HTML documents, text and graphics to be included, and will also serve as an archive. Some auxiliary products (digital video or videotape) will be too large to be included, however.
If, at this point, you are ready to submit your materials go here.
NOTE: Macintosh Netscape
access to NERO FTP has been enabled!
|
To upload files using
Netscape, simply go to the FTP site in question,
(ftp://ftp.nero.net) enter the desired directory and select
"Upload File". You will then get a dialog box asking for the
location of the file on your machine. (Mac users can just drag the file into the open window, and viola!) |
|
You may also choose to use whatever method you are most familiar or comfortable with to upload via anonymous FTP.
The FTP site is: ftp.nero.net
The directory upload into is: in.coming
For each project, the following information is requested:
Note that it is important to include the things that didn't work as well as those that did. It is also important to identify institutional, economic, cultural or other barriers to collaboration apart from those of distance (geographic, physical location) that can be addressed by networks.
If any of the above are available, free or for a charge (for example: an instructional video or CD), please include information about how to obtain them. If you would like us to handle distribution, please let us know.
List of equipment donations, additional grant support or other support received in whole or in part due to the NASA/NERO "seed funding"
If not funded as an outreach project, please describe any inclusion of, or access to, your results for K14, small business or industry.
List inventory #, location, and present utilization of NERO-funded equipment.
